Xebec announces orders from France, Italy and China

Xebec Adsorption Inc., a global provider of gas generation, purification, and filtration solutions recently announced a significant lift in its order book, driven by more than CDN $9.8 million in recent biogas orders from Europe and China.

In France, Xebec has won 12 more contracts through its French partner for biogas upgrading systems to be delivered in 2018. For this group of projects, Xebec will supply core technology while its partner will provide the complete biogas upgrading systems. One system in particular will be Xebec’s largest project yet in France—upgrading 2,000 Nm3/h of biogas into biomethane, also known as renewable natural gas (RNG), for injection into the national grid. These orders firmly position Xebec as the market leader in France in PSA purification technology.

In Italy, Xebec hasreceived an order for a flange-to-flange agri-food waste biogas upgrading plant to be located close to Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region for 1,000 Nm3/h of biogas to be upgraded to RNG for injection into their national grid.

In China, Xebec received yet another order for delivery of a complete biogas upgrading plant to be located at a waste water treatment plant (WWTP) in the city of Suzhou in Jiangsu province, to upgrade 1,250 Nm3/h of biogas to RNG. The gas will be injected into the local town gas grid.

“Xebec’s latest biogas upgrading system deployments in Europe are achieving performance levels of [more than 99 percent] methane recovery, thanks to a break-through in our adsorption technology that not only improves methane recovery, but reduces operating costs,” says Amir Ghasdi, director, Advanced Gas Purification Systems, Xebec.

“Our high recovery rate is our strongest commercial selling point but customers are just as impressed with our high reliability—our PSAs have accumulated over 15 million commercial operating hours with proven availabilities beyond 99 percent. Flexibility is another key attribute customers want and we deliver. Xebec’s proprietary fast-cycle rotary valve is built for a flexible operation—gas flow and composition can be automatically adjusted while maintaining gas purity.

Thanks to the reduced valve complexity and smaller footprint, Xebec’s complete systems are delivered as skidded, containerized modules for simple, fast installation, all of which result in considerable cost savings.”

These latest orders demonstrate the rapidly growing need for RNG—at a tipping point worldwide. Not only do they solidify Xebec’s 2017 order book but they demonstrate the potential for a strong foundation for 2018 orders. With more than 50 biogas systems delivered over the last 15 years in North America, Europe and Asia, Xebec experience will be the critical component to winning even more of these RNG projects moving forward.
