The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for July, reporting that nearly 1.8 billion RINs were generated during the month, including 38.92 million cellulosic RINs.

Nearly 38.92 million D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs were generated in July, including 29.65 million generated for compressed renewable natural gas (RNG) by domestic producers, 5.09 million generated for liquefied RNG by domestic producers, 2.5 million generated for liquefied RNG by importers, 1.16 million generated for cellulosic ethanol by domestic producers, and 517,419 generated for compressed RNG by importers.

According to the EPA, nearly 205.07 million D3 RINs were generated during the first seven months of the year. This includes 154.7 million generated for compressed RNG by domestic producers, 24.27 million generated for liquefied RNG by domestic producers, 12.57 million generated for liquefied RNG by importers, 5.12 million generated for compressed RNG by importers, 4.26 million generated for cellulosic ethanol by importers and 4.13 million generated for cellulosic ethanol by domestic producers.

No D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated in July, marking the first month in 2019 in which no D7 RINs were generated. For the first seven months of the year nearly 1.28 million D7 RINs were generated, all for cellulosic heating oil by importers.

Nearly 33.51 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated in July, including 23.29 million generated for ethanol by importers, 4.81 million generated for nonester renewable diesel by domestic producers, 2.86 million generated for naphtha by domestic producers, 2.1 million generated for ethanol by domestic producers, 325,871 generated for LPG by domestic producers, and 127,335 generated for renewable heating oil by domestic producers.

For the first seven months of 2019, nearly 142.15 million D5 RINs were generated. This includes 67.78 million generated for ethanol by importers, 33.96 million generated for nonester renewable diesel by domestic producers, 21.43 million generated for naphtha by domestic producers, 14.37 million generated for ethanol by domestic producers, 2.33 million generated for LPG by domestic producers, 2.2 million generated for renewable heating oil by domestic procures, and 67,289 generated for compressed RNG by domestic producers.

Nearly 1.33 billion D6 renewable fuel RINs were generated in July, including 1.31 billion for ethanol by domestic producers, 14.47 million generated for nonester renewable diesel by foreign entities, and 1.4 million generated for ethanol by importers.
