By Lee Enterprises Consulting | May 04, 2012

Lee Enterprises Alternative Fuels Consulting is pleased to announce the addition of Washington-based Convivium Renewable Energy as its wind consulting division and newest strategic alliance. Convivium Renewable Energy is a group of 13 professionals in the wind energy consulting business led by professional engineer Terry Meyer, a recognized wind expert with experience in more than 100 renewable energy projects. Services offered by Convivium include wind monitoring, sonic detection and ranging (SODAR) data collection, wind resource assessment and computer modeling, biogas, solid biomass, and micro hydro resource assessment, comparative analysis, net metering analysis and utility negotiation assistance, generation equipment specification, high-level system design and greenhouse gas inventory.

Earlier this year, Lee Enterprises Consulting announced the addition of Bob Parkins Renewable Energy Consultants as the solar component of its team, and CEO Wayne Lee said the addition of Convivium as its wind consultants is part of his group’s planned expansion that was announced at the beginning of the year. “Lee Enterprises Consulting is already the world’s largest consulting group dedicated to alternative and renewable fuels,” Lee said. “Our ultimate goal is to be able to handle every type of alternative or renewable fuels matter for a variety of clients.”

Lee said he believes that alternative and renewable fuels are the solution to breaking an unhealthy reliance on oil and notes that it will take a combination of many forms of alternative and renewable fuels to ultimately break this oil dependence. He noted that many of his consulting group’s specialists and strategic partners already have a significant presence in several alternative and renewable sectors, and said that his group continues to receive requests about projects that involve more than one sector. “Terry Meyer is a recognized professional in the field of wind energy and leads a group of top people with experience from all over the world,” said Lee. “The group they have assembled is second to none in wind energy, and Lee Enterprises Consulting is very happy to have them as our strategic partners for wind energy projects.”

Meyer has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkley, and is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas and Washington “Terry Meyer is a recognized professional in the field of wind energy, and leads a group of top people with experience from all over the world,” commented Lee. “The group it has assembled is second to none in wind energy, and Lee Enterprises Consulting is very happy to have them as our strategic partners for wind energy projects.”

“We have been in the wind energy consulting business for many years and our group is very proficient in that specialty,” Meyer said. “Lee Enterprises Consulting is the top alternative and renewable fuels consulting group in the world, and we are very excited to have been selected to lead its wind energy projects.” Meyer noted that having the affiliation with Lee Enterprises Consulting will be helpful to Convivium in many ways. “Not only do they have a broad presence in alternative and renewable fuels,” he said, “but they also have the top attorneys, accountants, appraisers, insurance teams, EPC contractors and other professionals who will now be available to us in our wind projects.” Lee and Meyer share a vision about alternative and renewable fuels, and both see the new relationship as a step in bringing that vision to reality.

Lee Enterprises is a biodiesel consulting firm specializing in project oversight and management, feasibility studies, grants, business plans, and assistance with planning, market analysis, site evaluation, feedstock selection and procurement, process technology, evaluation, offtake distribution, RINs, financing, capital budgeting, cold soak, filtration, personnel, and contract negotiations (for feedstock, offtake, transportation, construction, site purchase/lease and plant management).
