The Wood Pellet Association of Canada is proud to announce its latest Safety Hero: Michael Fantillo, production supervisor with Premium Pellet in Vanderhoof, British Columbia&nbsp;(a part of Sinclar Group Forest Products). Fantillo’s notable dedication makes his workplace safer for his coworkers.Over the past two years, Fantillo has successfully led his four-shift team to maintain a recordable incident-free workplace. He hosts every monthly safety meeting, ensuring that all employees are fully engaged as active participants in Premium Pellets’ Safety Culture. Fantillo also organizes annual safety drills, reinforcing preparedness and fostering a safety culture.Alongside his operational responsibilities, Fantillo also serves as co-chair of the Nechako Lumber/Premium Pellet Joint Health and Safety Committee.“Michael consistently goes above and beyond,” says Tim Boyes, environmental, health &amp; safety manager, Lumber Operations with Sinclar. “He leads by example and ensures the team keeps safety top of mind.”Fantillo’s contributions extend beyond his organization. He is an active member of WPAC’s Safety Committee and collaborates with WorkSafeBC on the Process Safety Initiative.“Michael brings a positive, enthusiastic presence to WPAC’s monthly Safety Committee meetings, says Gordon Murray, executive director, WPAC. “His contributions to our sharing sessions are always thoughtful, and Premium Pellet remains one of our most engaged participants. We appreciate the leadership he brings to our industry.”We continue to acknowledge the efforts of our colleagues who ensure everyone goes home safely each day.
