Time for Me to Say Goodbye

What can I say, they made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse and now I have to say goodbye, at least in part, to the biomass industry.

What can I say, they made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse and now I have to say goodbye, at least in part, to the biomass industry. I say in part, because as the new editor of Agweek magazine, I will still be involved in biomass in the form of energy crops, crop residue and animal waste.

I expect to continue to read and write about biomass densification, anaerobic digestion, combined-heat-and power and gasification, among other biomass technologies.

I have truly enjoyed being involved in this industry and with the people who work in it. You are creative, innovative, fearless, conscientious and determined. You have persevered in the face of misled opposition, regulatory overkill and funding disparities with other renewables. I will definitely be watching to see what you will do in the future.

I’m going to make this short and sweet so I don’t get all mushy on you, but I just wanted you to know that I will miss you.
