EPA: Additional small refinery petitions filed for 2017, 2018


The U.S. EPA has released updated data on small refinery waivers filed under the Renewable Fuel Standard. The new data shows that additional petitions were filed for 2017 and 2018 compliance years over the past month.

D3Max LLC and Ace Ethanol LLC have started construction of the first D3Max facility at Ace Ethanol’s facility in Stanley, Wisconsin. Ace Ethanol will be the first ethanol plant to integrate the patented D3Max corn kernel fiber-to-ethanol technology.

Orsted celebrates 50th anniversary of Studstrup Power Station


Orsted is celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of Denmark’s largest power stations. The then coal-fired Studstrup Power Station was inaugurated on Oct. 18, 1968, and converted to fire wood pellets in October 2016.

UK RHI proposal would limit installations of biomass boilers


The U.K. government has opened a public consultation on a proposal that would alter the Renewable Heat Incentive to exclude further support for biomass installations in urban areas on the gas grid. The U.K. REA has spoken out against the proposal.

EFT licenses FT technology to Red Rock Biofuels


Emerging Fuels Technology Inc has executed a license agreement with Red Rock Biofuels LLC under which EFT will provide its TL8a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) technology to provide additional FT capacity for RRB's biorefinery in Lakeview, Oregon.

Anellotech announces plans for commercial plant


Anellotech announced it has demonstrated commercially viable process economics during multi-month runs at its TCat-8 pilot facility. The company said it will now begin planning for a new commercial plant with partners IFPEN and Axens.
