In a decision that is expected to broadly impact the U.S. EPA's approach to granting SREs under the RFS, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit on Jan. 24 struck down three exemptions that were improperly issued by EPA.

Innogy sells German biomass cogeneration plant, pellet facility


German energy company Innogy has sold a biomass cogeneration plant and adjacent wood pellet plant to Austria-based Cycleenergy Holding GmbH. The company also recently announced its U.S. pellet plant is operating above nameplate capacity.

US Gain purchases another digester at Wisconsin dairy


U.S. Gain has announced the purchase of an anaerobic digester at Deer Run Dairy LLC in Kewaunee, Wisconsin. The company is currently installing biogas clean-up equipment. RNG produced at the site will be used to meet RFS and LCFS requirements.

Avantium to build FDCA flagship plant in the Netherlands


Avantium has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Avantium Renewable Polymers, has signed a letter of intent to locate its new flagship plant at Chemie Park Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The 5-kiloton facility will produce plant-based FDCA.
