Eptisa to provide services during assembly of 2 biomass plants
ENEL Green Power, a multinational renewable energy corporation, has awarded Eptisa the carry out of technical assistance services on site during the civil works and electromechanical assembly installation of the Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems in two Spanish biomass plants Energías de La Loma, S.A. in Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaen) and Energías de La Mancha Eneman S.A. in Villarta de San Juan (Ciudad Real).
Both plants have two suspended olive marc (orujillo) burners and an over fire air (OFA) system above the highest burner, which theoretically produces a staggering air. However, with the aim of reducing emissions of NOx (nitrous oxide), a new selective catalytic reduction system (SCR) will be installed on both plants to fulfill emission limits set in compliance with the Spanish Royal Decree 815/2013 and possible more restrictive amendments as proposed by BREF documents, mandatory during the current 2016.
Eptisa will ensure the proper execution of the works commissioned to the contractor, in both civil works and electromechanical assemblies, during the construction and assembly of said SCR system.
Eptisa will carry out on site visits and weekly stays in order to perform the following tasks, among others: verifying compliance with the Work Program; proposing solutions to ENEL Green Power for technical problems that may arise throughout the works; monitoring compliance with environmental rules, ensuring their implementation on site and developing follow-up actions set; monitoring compliance with the provisions in force concerning temporary signage of the site works, Safety and Health on Site (checking the implementation of the health and safety plan developed by the contractor) and, where appropriate, apply the modifications made.
Eptisa will also carry out the control of the execution, the geometric, qualitative and quantitative control of the works, and the interpretation, control and report on the results of the tests performed by the contractor for the materials control.
In addition, weekly and monthly reports will be drafted to enable ENEL having a comprehensive follow up of the progress of the Works, their problems and solutions adopted.
Activities on LA LOMA plant began on December 2015 and are scheduled for completion in mid-April 2016, while the works in ENEMANSA plant began on early March 2016 and is scheduled for completion on July.
