DOE: Biomass committee schedules June meeting

The U.S. Department of Energy has announced an open meeting of the Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee is scheduled for June 13-14 in Washington, D.C.

A notice published in the Federal Register notes that the purpose of the meeting is to develop advice and guidance that promotes research and development leading to the production of biobased fuels and products. The tentative agenda includes an update on USDA and DOE research and development activities, an update of the Biomass Research and Development Initiative, an overview of the USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative, and an overview of DOE Office of Science, Biological and Environmental Research and Basic Energy Sciences.

Members of the public can observe the business of the committee. Additional information for those who wish to attend the meeting and/or make oral or written statements on any of the items on the agenda is available on the Federal Register website. A summary of the meeting will be posted online following the event on the www.BiomassBoard.gov website.
