Neste has revised down its 2024 guidance for renewable products, citing substantially reduced diesel prices. The company said waste and residue feedstock prices have not decreased and renewable product market price premiums have remained weak.
Japan Petroleum Exploration Co. Ltd. (JAPEX) in August announced that the 50-megawatt (MW) Ozu Biomass Power Plant has commenced commercial operations. The facility is fueled with wood pellets.
On Aug. 20, Archaea Energy, a subsidiary of bp, and Waste Connections Inc. celebrated the opening of their first renewable natural gas (RNG) plant in Pennsylvania. The facility can produce enough RNG to heat more than 14,000 homes annually.
Tidewater Renewables Ltd. on Aug. 15 reported that its biorefinery in Prince George, British Colombia, operated at near capacity during Q2. Work is progressing on a potential SAF project and the company is working to improve financial liquidity.
Plant efficiency is coming to the fore in maintaining and improving many legacy and recently developed pellet mills in the United States.
