Valero reports profitable Q3 for renewable diesel, ethanol Valero Energy Corp. released Q3 financial results on Oct. 25, reporting both its renewable diesel and ethanol operations were profitable during the quarter. Minnesota landfill gas-to-RNG project begins operations Opal Fuels Inc. and NextEra Energy Marketing LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources LLC, on Oct. 25 announced the commencement of commercial operations at the first landfill renewable natural gas (RNG) production facility in Minnesota. 	EPA: 1.72 billion RINs generated in September The U.S. EPA has released data showing that 1.72 billion renewable identification numbers (RINs) were generated under the RFS in September, up from 1.62 billion generated during the same month of last year. READ MORE SHARE
Senators urge EPA to issue a strong RFS ‘set’ rule A bipartisan group of senators, led by Sens. John Thune, R-S.D., and Dick Durbin, D-Ill., on Oct. 19 sent a letter to EPA Administrator Michael Regan urging the agency to establish robust and expanded RVOs in its upcoming RFS "set" rule. Topsoe to supply technology to SAF biorefinery in Brazil Topsoe on Oct. 19 announced its HydroFlex and H2bridge technologies will be deployed at a biorefinery under development in Manaus, Brazil, by Brasil BioFuels. UWO, Agra Energy break ground on biogas-to-liquid fuel project The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has launched a new effort with Agra Energy to build Wisconsin’s first commercial facility to turn dairy farm waste into biofuel. Selkirk College turns wood waste into winter heat A new $1.8 million boiler project on Selkirk College’s Silver King Campus in British Columbia will reduce GHGs by at least 50 percent while saving the college $15,000 in natural gas purchases and $4,000 in carbon offset payments. READ MORE SHARE
Yuba Water approves $4.2M for infrastructure, biomass plant Yuba Water Agency on Oct. 18 approved more than $4.2 million in funding to support a major water and wastewater infrastructure expansion project in south Yuba County and a planned forest biomass plant and business center in the foothills. EverGen breaks ground on RNG facility expansion EverGen Infrastructure Corp. has announced construction is underway on the renewable natural gas (RNG) expansion project at Fraser Valley Biogas. The facility, located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, has been in operation since 2011. READ MORE SHARE
Signature Aviation expands supply of Neste SAF in California Signature Aviation, the world’s largest network of Fixed-Base Operations (FBO), announced on Oct. 19 that it has expanded the availability of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to all of its locations in California. READ MORE SHARE
Breakthrough Energy awards $50 million grant to LanzaJet Breakthrough Energy announced that its first Catalyst project funding will go to LanzaJet’s Freedom Pines Fuels sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in Soperton, Georgia, in the form of a $50 million grant. READ MORE SHARE
