EPA’s RFS ‘set’ rule boosts RVOs through 2025, addresses eRINs The U.S. EPA on Dec. 1 released its long-awaited RFS “set” rule, which includes RVOs for 2023, 2024 and 2025. The proposed rule also expands the program beyond liquid fuels to include certain types of renewable electricity used to fuel cars. READ MORE SHARE
EPA finalizes new RFS canola oil fuel pathways The U.S. EPA on Dec. 1 released a final rule to create canola oil fuel pathways under the Renewable Fuel Standard for renewable diesel, jet fuel, naphtha, liquified petroleum gas (LPG) and heating oil produced via a hydrotreating process. 	Enviva celebrates opening of Port of Pascagoula export terminal On Nov. 30, Enviva Inc. held a ceremonial ribbon cutting at its recently opened marine export terminal at the Port of Pascagoula, Mississippi. Drax: Report shows BECCS can be done well, at scale A panel convened by U.K.-based nonprofit Forum for the Future on Nov. 23 released a report on bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECSS). EIA: Biofuel capacity up in September, feedstock consumption down U.S. biofuels operable production capacity increased slightly in September, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on Nov. 30. Total feedstock consumption was down when compared to both the previous month and September 2021. READ MORE SHARE
Upcoming bill aims to change the way RINs are generated, priced A group of five lawmakers on Dec. 2 announced plans to introduce legislation that aims to change the way RINs are generated and traded under the RFS by directing the U.S. EPA to issue the credits at a fixed cost. READ MORE SHARE
	Clean Fuels comments on new SAF, biobased diesel tax incentives Clean Fuels Alliance America is urging the U.S. Treasury to utilize Argonne National Laboratory’s GREET model to measure the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in relation to new tax credits. Ryanair, Shell sign SAF agreement Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline and global energy group, Shell, on Dec. 1 signed a memo of understanding (MOU) to advance the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at over 200 Ryanair airports across Europe. READ MORE SHARE
JetBlue, Fidelis New Energy sign SAF agreement JetBlue and Fidelis New Energy LLC have announced a MOU to provide JetBlue at least 92 million gallons of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from Fidelis’ Grön Fuels GigaSystem at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge in Louisiana. READ MORE SHARE
Greenlane Renewables announces new contract for dairy RNG system Greenlane Renewables Inc. has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Greenlane Biogas North America Ltd., has been awarded a US$3.5 million contract for a dairy RNG project in the Western U.S. for the supply of a biogas upgrading system. Technip Energies selected by TotalEnergies for SAF project Technip Energies has been awarded a contract by TotalEnergies for the production of SAF at Grandpuits platform in France.
