King, Collins introduce BTU Tax Credit Expansion Act Sens. Angus King, I-Maine, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, on Dec. 9 introduced The BTU Tax Credit Expansion Act, which aims to increase the maximum rebate for biomass stoves and boilers from $2,000 to $8,000. READ MORE SHARE

US wood pellet exports at 750,989 metric tons in October The U.S. exported 750,989.2 metric tons of wood pellets in October, down slightly from 766,508.2 metric tons in September, but up when compared to the 422,107 metric tons exported in October 2021, according to data released by the USDA on Dec. 6. Bill aims to create $1 per gallon tax credit for RNG fuel sales Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Linda T. Sánchez, D-Calif., on Dec. 1 introduced the Renewable Natural Gas Incentive Act. The bill aims to create a $1 per gallon tax credit for the sale of renewable natural gas (RNG) used in transportation. READ MORE SHARE
USDA reduces 2022-’23 forecast for soybean oil use in biofuel The USDA reduced its forecast for 2022-’23 soybean oil use in biofuel production in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released Dec. 9. 	Velocys receives 2 grants from UK government U.K.-based Velocys plc on Dec. 12 announced it has been awarded two new grants through the U.K. Department of Transport’s Advanced Fuels Fund to support its planned waste-to-sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility and an e-fuels project. LanzaJet marks milestone on its Freedom Pines Fuels construction LanzaJet on Dec. 13 joined government officials, industry leaders, and investors to celebrate a major construction milestone at the LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels facility in Soperton, Georgia. Virgin Atlantic to purchase 70 million gallons of SAF Virgin Atlantic on Dec. 6 announced the purchase of 10 million U.S. gallons per annum of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to be produced by Gevo Inc. and supplied by Virgin Atlantic’s joint venture partner, Delta Air Lines. READ MORE SHARE
GoodFuels delivers sustainable biofuel to Aida Cruises On Dec. 8, during its port call to Rotterdam, the Netherlands, GoodFuels successfully delivered its 100 percent biofuel to a Hyperion-class cruise ship operated by AIDA Cruises.
