USDA: US wood pellet exports at 694,200 tons in November


The U.S. exported 694,199.7 metric tons of wood pellets in November, down from 750,989.2 metric tons in October and 764,259.6 metric tons in November 2021, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Jan. 5.

Origin Materials Inc. has issued a construction update on Origin 1, the company’s first commercial plant. Due to severe weather conditions, the project has experienced a brief delay but is expected to be mechanically complete in January.

EIA updates bioenergy generation, capacity forecasts


Renewables are expected to account for 24 percent of U.S. electricity generation this year, increasing to 26 percent in 2024, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Jan. 10.
