Imperial approves $720M for Canadian renewable diesel facility Imperial has announced it will invest $720 million (USD $560 million) to move forward with construction of a renewable diesel facility near Edmonton, Alberta. The facility is epected to be operational in 2025. READ MORE SHARE
DOE awards $118 million to 17 biofuel projects The U.S. Department of Energy on Jan. 26 awarded $118 million to 17 projects to accelerate the production of sustainable biofuels for America’s transportation and manufacturing needs. 	USDA solicits applications for wood energy projects The USDA’s Forest Service has announced it will offer $41 million through the 2023 Wood Innovations Grant and 2023 Community Wood Grant programs to spark innovation and create new markets for wood products and renewable wood energy. Valero reports profitable Q4 for renewable diesel, ethanol Valero Energy Corp. sold a record volume of renewable diesel during the fourth quarter of 2022 thanks to the November startup of the Diamond Green Diesel biorefinery in Port Arthur, Texas. EIA: Biofuel capacity, feedstock consumption up in November U.S. operable biofuels production capacity was up in November, with gains for both ethanol and renewable diesel, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on Jan. 31. Total feedstock consumption was up slightly from October. READ MORE SHARE
Aemetis Biogas: Additional RNG infrastructure now in service Aemetis Inc. announced it has accepted into service 36 miles of additional biogas pipeline; two biogas digesters, the biogas-to-RNG upgrading facility, and the utility gas pipeline interconnection unit. Emirates operates demonstration flight with Neste SAF Emirates has operated its first milestone demonstration flight on a Boeing 777-300ER, powering one of its engines 100 percent with Neste’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Honeywell begins using SAF to test APUs, propulsion engines Honeywell has received its first delivery of sustinable aviation fuel (SAF) at its Phoenix Engines campus. The fuel will support development and production testing of auxiliary power units (APUs) and propulsion engines. READ MORE SHARE
Perdue Farms, GreenGasUSA partner to reduce emissions with RNG GreenGasUSA has installed equipment at Perdue Farms' operations in Lewiston, North Carolina, to capture the methane from the operation’s onsite wastewater treatment facility and convert it to renewable natural gas (RNG). READ MORE SHARE
Illinois lawmakers approve $1.50 per gallon SAF tax credit Both houses of the Illinois General Assembly on Jan. 10 approved a legislative package that, in part, creates a $1.50 per gallon tax credit for SAF. The legislation must now be signed by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. READ MORE SHARE
Steeper Energy, Topsoe partner to offer waste-to-biofuel solution Topsoe and Steeper Energy have signed a global licensing agreement for a complete waste-to-fuel solution. The agreement combines Topsoe's renewable fuel and hydrogen technologies with Steeper's hydrofaction technology. READ MORE SHARE
