United launches $100+ million sustainable flight fund In an effort to rally businesses and consumers, United has launched the United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund, a first-of-its-kind investment vehicle designed to support start-ups focused on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Shell completes acquisition of RNG producer Nature Energy Shell Petroleum NV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell plc, has completed the acquisition of 100 percent of the shares of Nature Energy Biogas A/S, the largest producer of renewable natural gas (RNG) in Europe. READ MORE SHARE
	EPA: 1.75 billion RINs generated under RFS in January The U.S. EPA has released data showing more than 1.75 billion renewable identification number (RINs) were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in January, up from 1.59 billion that were generated during the same month of 2022. American Biogas Council submits Renewable Fuel Standard comments The American Biogas Council submitted comments to the U.S. EPA's proposed “Set Rule” regarding the Renewable Fuel Standard. The proposed rule includes RVOs for 2023, 2024 and 2025 and addresses the genration of eRINs. READ MORE SHARE

Japan opens comment period on updated biofuel standards proposal The government of Japan on Feb. 1 issued proposed biofuel standards for 2023-2027 that address both ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). 	Sasol, Topsoe to accelerate growth in SAF Sasol, the global chemicals and energy company, and Topsoe, a global leader in carbon emission reduction technologies, have signed a MOU with the intent to establish a 50/50 joint venture (JV) in 2023 to produce SAF. READ MORE SHARE
Construction underway on Amp Americas RNG facility in Wisconsin Amp Americas has begun construction on a dairy renewable natural gas (RNG) project in Darlington, Wisconsin. The new project is expected to capture dairy waste from approximately 4,000 cows and is scheduled begin operations in mid-2023. READ MORE SHARE
bp plans for biorefinery in Australia reach new milestone bp has announced plans to retrofit its Kwinana refinery in Australia to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel. The facility is expected to begin producing biobased fuels in 2026. READ MORE SHARE
Fulcrum BioEnergy's UK SAF project awarded $20 million Fulcrum BioEnergy Inc.'s U.K. subsidiary received a grant of approximately £16.8 million ($20.2 million) from the U.K. Department for Transport Advanced Fuels Fund to support development of SAF production facility. READ MORE SHARE
