USDA: US wood pellet exports top 865,995 metric tons in June The U.S. exported 865,995.4 metric tons of wood pellets in June, up from both the 820,057.5 metric tons exported the previous month and the 832,092.2 metric tons exported in June 2022, according to data released by the USDA FAS on Aug. 8. 	Louisiana renewable diesel project begins operations PBF Energy Inc. on Aug. 3 announced that both the renewable diesel production unit and the feedstock pretreatment unit (PTU) at the St. Bernard Renewables biorefinery co-located with its Chalmette oil refinery in Louisiana are now operational. Gevo: Net-Zero 1 reaches key milestone for DOE loan guarantee Gevo Inc. has announced that its Net-Zero 1 ethanol-to-jet project has been invited by the U.S. DOE to the due diligence and term sheet negotiation phase for a $950 million loan guarantee under the Title 17 Clean Energy Financing Program. Enviva: Epes plant on track to begin operations in 2024 Enviva Inc. on Aug. 3 announced that construction on its Epes wood pellet plant in Alabama is progressing well, with the plant scheduled to be operational in 2024. SunGas Renewables to develop green methanol facility in Louisiana SunGas Renewables Inc. on July 26 announced the formation of Beaver Lake Renewable Energy LLC, which will construct a new green methanol production facility in Louisiana with the capacity to produce 400,000 metric tons per year.
