House Ag Appropriations votes to cut BCAP, REAP


Just a few weeks after the USDA announced the first BCAP project area, the U.S. House of Representatives' Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee has voted to eliminate BCAP funding for 2012. The subcommittee also voted to eliminate REAP funding.

The Jordan Dairy Farm in Rutland, Mass., will soon host the state's first biogas power facility. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on May 31 for the manure and food waste-to-energy plant, construction of which began in October of last year.
