Burgess BioPower earns RPS certification, wraps up commissioning The Berlin, N.H.-based Burgess BioPower LLC facility was officially certified as a Class I renewable energy source in Connecticut on May 20. The 75-MW plant began operations in late 2013 and is expected to wrap up the commissioning phase this week. READ MORE SHARE
Ohio legislature passes bill to freeze, alter state RPS The Ohio legislature has passed a bill that could freeze the state's renewable portfolio standard (RPS) for two years. A recent statement made by the governor suggests he is likely to sign the legislation. READ MORE SHARE
	Saskatoon landfill gas facility operational A 1.63 MW landfill-gas-to-energy plant at the Saskatoon city landfill is now sending electricity to the grid, enough to power roughly 1,300 homes. Work on the project has been ongoing for the past couple of years. READ MORE SHARE
BioStar Systems to construct AD plant in Missouri This fall, BioStar Systems LLC will begin construction of an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility in Pettis County, Mo. Garb grabs pellet gear in asset purchase agreement Florida-based Garb Oil & Power Corp. has entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire process equipment for pellet production and a 40,000 square foot warehouse. The agreement is expected to close later this year. READ MORE SHARE

EIA: U.S. added 59.6 MW of bioenergy capacity in March U.S. Energy Information Administration data shows the U.S. added 59.6 MW of bioenergy capacity in March, including 20 MW of capacity from wood and wood waste sources, 9 MW from landfill gas and 20.6 MW of capacity from other waste biomass sources.
