	Rentech commences start-up of the Atikokan wood pellet facility Rentech Inc. announced Oct. 28 that start-up of the Atikokan wood pellet facility has begun. During the next few weeks, the plant will undergo safety inspections, equipment testing and final commissioning. READ MORE SHARE
EU GHG deal calls for 27 percent renewables by 2030 On Oct. 24, the European Council issued a statement announcing it has agreed on the 2030 climate and energy policy framework for the European Union. One component of the plan sets a 27 percent renewable energy target. READ MORE SHARE
FERC: 140 MW of biomass capacity added in first 9 months of 2014 The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Office of Energy Projects has published its Energy Infrastructure Update for September 2014, reporting the U.S. added 38 biomass power generation units during the first nine months of the year. DTE Biomass dedicates landfill gas facility in N.C. DTE Biomass Energy recently celebrated the completion of its 9.6-MW landfill gas-to-energy project at the Uwharrie Environmental Landfill in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. READ MORE SHARE
CRDC announces grant for biomass-fueled district heating system Capital Regional Development Council recently announced it has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Forest Service to support the development of a wood-fired district heating system in Claremont, New Hampshire. READ MORE SHARE
Republic Services reports 4.6 percent revenue growth in Q3 Republic Services Inc. released third quarter results Oct. 30, reporting increased revenue. The waste services company currently operates 72 active landfill gas-to-energy projects, comprising approximately one-third of its landfills nationwide. READ MORE SHARE
Everbright International announces straw pellet project in China China Everbright International Ltd. has signed an investment agreement with the People's Government of Rudong County in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, for pellet project that will take in straw and agricultural waste as feedstock. WM to close sale of Wheelabrator in late 2014, early 2015 Waste Management is nearing completion on the sale of waste-to-energy business subsidiary Wheelabrator Technologies Inc., WM President and CEO David Steiner reported during an Oct. 29 quarterly earnings call. READ MORE SHARE
KiOR to be delisted from NASDAQ Documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 27 indicate KiOR Inc. will be delisted from the NASDAQ Stock Market LLC, effective Nov. 6. KiOR did not appeal the decision. READ MORE SHARE
Novozymes announces increased bioenergy sales in Q3 results Novozymes recently released third quarter financial results, reporting a 9 percent organic sales growth for the quarter. During the first nine months of the year, sales grew organically by 8 percent. READ MORE SHARE

Covanta releases Q3 results Covanta Holding Corp. has released third quarter financial results, reporting revenue of $414 million, down from $425 million during the same period of 2013. Net income from continuing operations for the quarter was $6 million. READ MORE SHARE
Enerkem announces partnerships with 3 Chinese companies Enerkem Inc. announced agreements with three Chinese companies in October.
