	Idaho pellet project works to overcome challenges Though an Idaho pellet plant project announced last spring hasn’t yet come to fruition, the project is still alive and working to overcome final hurdles. IRENA: Global renewable energy jobs increased in 2015 The International Renewable Energy Agency has released a report finding more than 8.1 million people worldwide are currently employed by the renewable energy industry, up 5 percent from last year. Impact Bioenergy’s microdigester testing waste at Seattle brewery Seattle-based Impact Bioenergy, a small startup focused on distributed energy with its portable, prefabricated anaerobic digestion technology, deployed its first microdigester at the Fremont Brewery Co. in Seattle in April. USDA awards $8.8 million under Advanced Biofuel Payment Program On May 27, the USDA announced more than $8.8 million in awards through its Advanced Biofuel Payment Program, which makes payments to producers for advanced biofuels produced from renewable biomass other than corn kernel starch. EPA posts supporting documents for RFS rulemaking On May 31, the U.S. EPA published its proposed rule to set 2017 renewable fuel standard (RFS) volume requirements in the Federal Register and posted dozens of supporting documents under the rule’s docket folder on Regulations.gov. READ MORE SHARE

New EU standard to boost greater use of renewable diesel The European Committee for Standardization recently approved a new standard for paraffinic diesel fuel made from synthesis or hydrotreatment.
