Canada delays development of Clean Fuel Standard regulations The Canadian government has announced plans to delay implementation of its Clean Fuel Standard. Original plans called for development of the program regulations to be complete next year. That work is now expected to take until 2021. READ MORE SHARE
Astec redefines its role in the pellet plant market Astec Industries Inc. recently released second quarter financial results and explained that while it will continue to serve as an equipment supplier to the pellet industry, the company will no longer finance plants or act as an EPC contractor. 	Drax signs £40 million contract with Siemens for turbine upgrades Drax Power, which operates the biggest power station in the U.K., has signed a new £40 million contract with Siemens for the upgrade of turbines on three of its biomass units over the next three years. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: 25.57 million cellulosic RINs generated in June The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for June, reporting that more than 1.6 billion RINs were generated during the month, including nearly 25.57 million cellulosic RINs. READ MORE SHARE
Covanta releases Q2 results, plans to close New Jersey EfW plant On July 26, Covanta Holding Corp. released second quarter financial results, provided an update of its energy-from-waste (EfW) operations and announced plans to close an EfW plant in New Jersey. READ MORE SHARE
House subcommittee holds hearing on RINs On July 25, the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Environment held a hearing that aimed to educate members of the subcommittee on renewable identification numbers (RINs) and the role RINs play in the RFS. READ MORE SHARE
UI seeks proposals for densified biomass solid fuel trials The University of Iowa has opened a RFQL seeking suppliers to develop densified fuel that blends miscanthus with other high-BTU feedstocks. The university intends to attract pellet producers who can supply it with up to 125,000 tons of fuel per year. READ MORE SHARE
MSU turns zoo waste into clean energy Michigan State University has created a green solution for the problem of what to do with animal and food waste at the Detroit Zoo. MSU researcher Dana Kirk and his team worked with the Detroit Zoo to build an anaerobic digester. READ MORE SHARE
Cool Planet closes $20 million in funding Cool Planet, an agricultural technology company focused on soil health solutions, has closed on an additional $20.3 million of new investment and note conversion. The funding will be used to increase overall production of Cool Terra. READ MORE SHARE
