Norway to implement biofuel mandate for aviation fuel in 2020


Norway is taking action to require the use of renewable aviation fuel. On Oct. 4, the country’s Ministry of Climate and Environment announced it will require aviation fuel to contain at least 0.5 percent advanced biofuel starting in 2020.

EIA: 700,000 tons of densified biomass fuel sold in June


The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently released data showing that U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 700,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in June, with sales also reaching 700,000 tons.

New Hampshire delegation asks EPA to include biomass power in RFS


New Hampshire’s congressional delegation is speaking out to urge the U.S. EPA to move forward with a proposed rule that would allow renewable electricity made from biomass that is used to fuel vehicles to quality for the Renewable Fuel Standard.

In its latest market forecast, the International Energy Agency predicts modern bioenergy will represent the biggest growth in renewable energy sources between 2018 and 2023, with bioenergy in the power sector alone increasing by 37 gigawatts (GW).
