Senate passes 2018 Farm Bill On Dec. 11, the Senate voted 87 to 13 to pass the 2018 Farm Bill. The vote came one day after House and Senate ag committee leaders released the text of the 2018 Farm Bill conference report. The bill will now be considered by the House. READ MORE SHARE

	NYSERDA offers $16M in funding for anaerobic digestion projects On Dec. 4, the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority announced it is making $19 million available to accelerate the use of clean energy technologies on farms. Surplus assets of former Ineos Bio plant to be sold at auction Some of the land and equipment associated with the former Ineos Bio Energy 8 MMgy cellulosic ethanol plant and associated 6 MW bioenergy plant in Vero Beach, Florida, is being offered for sale via an auction with Maas Companies. EIA: 760,000 tons of densified biomass fuel produced in August The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently released data showing that U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 760,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in August, with sales reaching 730,000 tons. READ MORE SHARE
Report: Biofuels, bioproducts required to meet GHG goals A report released by the Biofuture Platform states that the world’s greenhouse gas reduction goals cannot be met without greater use of biofuels and bioproducts. Xebec to supply PSA units to biogas projects in Brazil, France In late November, Xebec Adsorption Inc. announced orders to supply pressure swing adsorption (PSA) units to a large landfill gas project near Sao Paulo, Brazil, and several biogas projects in France. READ MORE SHARE
UK government publishes bioeconomy strategy for 2018-2030 The U.K. BEIS has published a national bioeconomy strategy for 2018 to 2030. Total Corbion PLA starts-up 75,000-ton-per-year bioplastics plant Total Corbion PLA, a 50/50 joint venture between Total and Corbion, announced the start-up of its 75,000-ton-per-year poly lactic acid (PLA) bioplastics plant in Rayong, Thailand.
