EDA awards $10M grant to build pellet storage at Florida port


The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration is awarding a $10 million grant to the Panama City Port Authority in Panama City, Florida, to support the development of a new biomass bulk storage facility.

EPA: 37.05 million cellulosic RINs generated in June


More than 1.67 billion RINs, including 37.05 million cellulosic RINs, were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in June, according to new data released by the U.S. EPA. RIN generation for the first half of the year reached nearly 9.64 billion.

Uskmouth conversion on track, pellet plant begins commissioning


SIMEC Atlantis Energy Ltd. has announced the biomass conversion of the coal-fired Uskmouth power station in Newport, U.K., is on track to begin operations by 2021. Once complete, the 220 MW facility will be fueled with waste pellets.

Velocys raises £7M, secures £2.8M in co-funding from BA, Shell


Velocys has secured £7 million ($8.75 million) by way of a placing of more than 233.33 million new ordinary shares. The placing complements £2.8 million committed by British Airways and Shell, strategic partners in Velocys' U.K. biojet fuel project.
