RNG industry asks EPA to increase cellulosic RVO in RFS comments The comment period of the U.S. EPA’s proposed rule to set 2020 RVOs under the Renewable Fuel Standard, along with the 2021 RVO for biomass-based diesel closed Aug. 30. EPA proposes federal plan under 2016 landfill gas regulations The EPA took two actions in August relating to the timing and implementation of 2016 emission guidelines for existing MSW landfills. One is a rule to align state plan timing requirements with ACE regulations. The other is a proposed federal plan. READ MORE SHARE
	USCIS urged to approve foreign investment in Aemetis project A federal lawmaker from California is slamming the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service for its mishandling of an application submitted by Aemetis Inc. regarding foreign investment for its proposed Riverbank cellulosic ethanol project. Canadian government invests $4.7 million in Woodland Biofuels The Canadian government announced plans Aug. 27 to invest $4.7 million in Woodland Biofuels, a Toronto-based company that is using gasification and a series of catalytic reactions to convert biomass into renewable fuels. READ MORE SHARE

Neste opens 3 additional cardlock fueling sites in California Neste has opened three new commercial fueling sites in California where drivers can refuel on the company’s branded renewable diesel. Bioenergy startup licenses ORNL food-waste-to-fuel system Electro-Active Technologies Inc. has exclusively licensed two biorefinery technologies invented and patented by the startup’s co-founders while working at the DOE's Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
