UK REA urges government to commit to 16% bioenergy goal The U.K. Renewable Energy Association on Sept. 4 released the third and final installment of its Bioenergy Strategy, urging the government to commit to bioenergy accounting for 16 percent of the U.K.'s primary energy supply by 2032. 	USDA: US exports 450,000 tons of wood pellets in July The U.S. exported 451,299.1 tons of wood pellets in July, according to data published by the USDA FAS on Sept. 4. Exports were down when compared to the 694,515.3 tons exported in June and the 476,634.8 tons exported in July 2018. READ MORE SHARE
Court denies NBB’s petition for review regarding 2018 RFS rule The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit issued a judgement Sept. 6 denying three petitions for review filed regarding the U.S. EPA’s 2018 RFS rule, including one filed by the National Biodiesel Board. READ MORE SHARE
Vietnam pellet mill comes online under guidance of FutureMetrics FutureMetrics has announced a 120,000-metric-ton-per-year pellet plant located in the Binh Dinh province of Vietnam that was developed with the guidance of FutureMetrics' operations expert John Swaan has begun commercial operations. CS Energy breaks ground on RNG plant in Indianapolis SCS Energy recently broke ground on construction of a 4,000-scfm landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) plant in Indianapolis. Indy High Btu LLC engaged SCS Energy to build the RNG plant under an engineer/procure/construct (EPC) agreement. READ MORE SHARE
USDA solicits REAP applications for fiscal year 2020 funding The USDA announced Aug. 30 it is seeking applications for fiscal year 2020 funding under the Rural Energy for America Program, which helps agriculture producers and rural small businesses make renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements. Port of Columbia County approves lease for Next Renewable Fuels The Port of Columbia County Commissioners has approved a long-term ground lease with next Renewable Fuels for a 90-acre industrial site at Port Westward, Oregon, for an advanced green diesel production facility. READ MORE SHARE
MOU between EPA, IRS aims to improve biofuel tax fraud analysis The U.S. EPA posted a notice to its websites Sept. 4 announcing a MOU with the Internal Revenue Service under which the agencies have agreed to share information in an effort to identify and respond to fraud related to renewable fuels. Gevo converts isobutanol or fusel oils to renewable diesel Gevo Inc. announced Sept. 4 that it has developed proprietary processes that converts either low-carbon isobutanol or low-value fusel oils, a mixture of alcohols that are byproducts of fermentation, into renewable diesel. READ MORE SHARE
