The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals on April 7 rejected two petitions filed by Wynnewood Refining and HollyFrontier on March 24 requesting a rehearing en banc of the court’s Jan. 24 ruling that struck down three SREs approved by the U.S. EPA.

Ace approved to generate D3 RINs from corn kernel fiber ethanol


To participate in the RFS program and generate RINs, renewable fuel producers must meet the registration requirements in Title 40 CFR Part 80. With the EPA approval, Ace Ethanol can now produce ethanol from corn kernel fiber and generate D3 RINs.

USDA: US wood pellet exports top 546,435 tons in February


The U.S exported 546,435.2 metric tons of wood pellets in February, up from both 500,904 tons in January and 501,563.9 tons in February 2019, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on April 2.

Capstone helps California facility produce renewable energy


Capstone Turbine Corp. announced March 26 that it received an order for an 800 kilowatt Signature Series microturbine to upgrade the City of Roseville, California, wastewater treatment plant. The upgrade will allow the facility to generate power.

The EPA has announced 42 states and territories failed to submit state plans under the 2016 emissions guidelines for existing MSW landfills. The agency has two years to promulgate a federal plan for those states.
