Neste announced on July 23 that its renewable products business set a new quarterly sales volume record during the second quarter of 2020. Nameplate production capacity for renewable diesel also increased during the quarter.

The American Carbon Registry has opened a public comment period on Version 2.0 of its methodology for the generation of carbon offsets from landfill gas destruction and beneficial use projects. Comments can be filed on the methodology through Aug. 7.

The DOE on July 28 announced $68 million in funding over five years for basic research aimed at making bioenergy feedstock crops more productive and resilient. Feedstocks addressed by the research include sorghum, poplar and pennycress.
