Phillips 66 to convert San Francisco refinery to renewable fuels


Phillips 66 announced Aug. 12 that it plans to reconfigure its San Francisco Refinery in Rodeo, California, to produce renewable fuels. The project would produce 680 million gallons annually of renewable diesel, gasoline and jet fuel.

Wheeler discusses expected delays in 2021 RVOs, gap year SREs


U.S. EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler on Aug. 11 said work is ongoing to review gap year SRE waivers and issue a proposed rule to set 2021 RVOs under the RFS. He was unable, however, to specify when those tasks will be complete.

Republic Services, Aria Energy, BP partner on RNG project


Republic Services and energy partners Aria Energy and BP on Aug. 17 announced the startup of a landfill-gas-to-renewable-natural-gas (RNG) project at South Shelby Landfill. The facility can produce the equivalent of 33,250 gallons of gasoline daily.

UK bioenergy electricity production increased 6.8% in 2019


The U.K. Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has released updated energy statistics that show renewable resources accounted for 12.3 percent of the nation’s total energy consumption in 2019, up from 11.2 percent in 2018.

Anheuser-Bush transitions dedicated fleet to RNG
