UK government to issue new biomass strategy in 2022 The U.K. government announced on Oct. 15 that it intends to publish a new biomass strategy in 2022. 	US Forest Service offers funding for wood energy projects The U.S. Forest Service announced on Oct. 20 it is accepting applications for 2021 Wood Innovations Grants and 2021 Community Wood Energy and Wood Innovation Grants. Approximately $10 million in funding is available. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: 1.63 billion RINs generated in September The U.S. EPA released data in mid-October showing 1.63 billion RINs were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in September, up from 1.61 billion generated during the same month of last year. READ MORE SHARE
UW Oshkosh, Agra Energy bring biofuel technology to dairy farms The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has partnered with Agra Energy Corp. to promote a new gas-to-liquids technology that converts methane-rich biogas into liquid fuels that meet diesel fuel specifications. READ MORE SHARE
US Gain adds Deer Run Dairy to its RNG development portfolio U.S. Gain has announced the anaerobic digester at Deer Run Dairy is complete, transforming animal waste to clean, low carbon fuel for the transportation market. U.S. Gain plans to expand the system's capacity next year. READ MORE SHARE
EIA: Densified biomass fuel sales reach 670,000 tons in June The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently released data showing U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 730,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in June, with sales reaching 670,000 tons. READ MORE SHARE
Canadian government funds RNG, biomass heating projects The Canadian government on Oct. 8 awarded funding to an agricultural biomethanizer plant in Quebec and project that will add high-efficiency biomass boilers to four municipal buildings in New Brunswick. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: 2 additional SRE petitions filed for compliance year 2019 The U.S. EPA released updated small refinery exemption (SRE) data on Oct. 15, reporting two additional SRE petitions have been filed for Renewable Fuel Standard compliance year 2019. UK bioenergy generation, capacity increase in Q2 Renewables accounted for a growing share of U.K. electricity generation during the second quarter of 2020.
