Renova begins construction on 75 MW biomass plant in Japan Japan-based Renova Inc. announced on April 1 construction is underway on its Omaezakikou Biomass Power Plant, a 75-megawatt (MW) facility under development approximately 150 miles southwest of Tokyo in Omaezaki and Makinohara, Shizuoka Prefecture. Biofuel groups, states file amicus briefs in SCOTUS SRE case The ABFA, RNG Coalition, NBB and a group of eight states on March 31 filed amicus briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court urging the court to affirm the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals’ January 2020 ruling on small refinery exemptions (SREs). EIA updates 2021, 2022 bioenergy forecasts The U.S. Energy Information Administration released its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook on April 6, predicting that 21 percent of U.S. electricity generation will come from renewable sources this year, increasing to 22 percent next year. READ MORE SHARE
Honeywell technology chosen for advanced biorefinery in Paraguay Honeywell has announced that Brazil-based ECB Group will use the UOP Ecofining process to convert vegetable oils and inedible animal fats into renewable diesel and jet fuel at the Omega Green production facility in Villeta, near Asuncion, Paraguay. Certarus enters agreement with RNG Moovers for delivery of RNG Certarus (USA) Ltd. has entered into a five-year contract with RNG Moovers, which is a project under the joint venture between Aria Energy and BP Products North America. Aemetis announces new LCFS pathway, launches CCS subsidiary Aemetis Inc. on March 31 announced CARB has approved a new LCFS pathway for ethanol produced at its Keyes, California, plant using dairy biogas.
