Larry Hogan and other officials gathered at Bioenergy Devco’s new anaerobic digestion facility in Jessup, Maryland, on July 7 to celebrate near completion of what will be the state’s largest anaerobic digestion (AD) facility. North Carolina bill creates general permit certain biogas systems North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper on July 2 signed the North Carolina Farm Act of 2021. The legislation, in part, directs the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission to develop a new general permit for farms with digester systems. READ MORE SHARE
DOE funds 2 biomass-to-hydrogen projects The U.S. Department of Energy on July 7 announced $52.5 million to fund 31 projects to advance next-generation clean hydrogen technologies. Two of the funded projects focus specifically on the production of hydrogen from biobased feedstocks. READ MORE SHARE
Ontario increases opportunity for on-farm RNG production The Ontario government on July 5 announced it is changing its biogas regulations under the Nutrient Management Act to enable new on-farm biogas systems and expansions of existing systems to be approved more easily and at a lower cost. JetBlue expands use of SAF JetBlue has entered into a new relationship with World Energy and World Fuel Services for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). JetBlue’s LAX flights using SAF started this month. READ MORE SHARE
