BPA dismayed at DC Circuit ruling against clean electricity fuel The Biomass Power Association on July 17 expressed concern over a D.C. Circuit decision allowing the U.S. EPA to delay crediting cellulosic fuel in a challenge to the agency’s 2019 Renewable Volume Obligation rule. READ MORE SHARE
EQT to acquire Covanta Covanta Holding Corp., the world’s leading waste-to-energy provider, announced on July 14 it will be acquired by EQT Infrastructure. The $5.3 billion transaction is expected to close by the end of the year. READ MORE SHARE
	EPA: 1.77 billion RINs generated in June The U.S. EPA has published updated renewable identification number (RIN) generation data, reporting that more than 1.77 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in June, up from 1.51 billion generated during the same month of last year. READ MORE SHARE
European Commission unveils plans to cut GHG emissions by 55% The European Commission on July 14 adopted a package of proposals that aim to reduce net GHG emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030 when compared to 1990 levels. Among the proposals are those related to forestry, renewable energy and SAF. READ MORE SHARE
ITA: Renewable energy advisory committee to meet July 29 The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration has announced the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee will hold a virtual meeting via WebEx on July 29. ReCarbon, H2Renewables announce landfill gas-to-hydrogen projects ReCarbon Inc., the developer of the patented plasma carbon conversion unit (PCCU), announced the execution of a supply agreement with Cleveland, Tennessee-based landfill gas to hydrogen project developer, H2Renewables LLC. Kinder Morgan to purchase RNG developer Kinetrex Energy Kinder Morgan Inc. has agreed to acquire Indianapolis-based Kinetrex Energy from an affiliate of Parallel49 Equity. Kinetrex is the leading supplier of LNG in the Midwest and a rapidly growing player in producing and supplying RNG. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: 6 SRE petitions withdrawn, 64 currently pending The U.S. EPA released updated small refinery exemption (SRE) data on July 15, reporting that six SRE petitions have been withdrawn in the past month. There are now 64 SRE petitions pending, down from 70 in June. READ MORE SHARE
Ameresco: Commercial operations begin Texas RNG plant Ameresco Inc. has achieved commercial operations at its landfill gas to RNG plant at Republic Services’ McCarty Road Landfill in Houston, Texas. The facility has a gross nameplate in exceess of 1.1 million dekatherms per year. READ MORE SHARE
Boeing, SkyNRG partner to scale SAF globally Boeing, SkyNRG and SkyNRG Americas on July 14 announced a partnership focused on scaling the availability and use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) globally. Boeing will also invest in SkyNRG Americas' SAF production project. READ MORE SHARE
