EIA seeks 3-year extension of biomass fuel pellet data collection The U.S. Energy Information Administration is seeking to extend its existing data collection on densified biomass fuel for three years with no changes. DOE awards $34 million to 11 MSW, algae feedstock projects The U.S. Department of Energy on Aug. 3 awarded nearly $34 million to 11 projects that will support research and development to improve and produce algae and MSW feedstocks for the production of biofuels, biopower and bioproducts. Harder introduces bill to create pyrolysis grant program Rep. Josh Harder, D-Calif., on July 28 reintroduced the FARM Act, which aims to establish two new programs to help farmers fight climate change. Lawmakers ask Regan to prioritize RFS rulemakings A group of 29 members of Congress on July 30 sent a letter to U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan urging the agency to prioritize rulemaking to set RFS RVOs for 2021 and 2022, along with the biomass-based diesel RVOs for 2022 and 2023.
