US wood pellet exports up in September


The U.S. exported 690,515.4 metric tons of wood pellets in September, up from both 647,901.5 metric tons in August and 608,099.7 metric tons in September 2020, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Nov. 4.

Enviva provides update of plant development, business structure


Enviva Partners LP released third quarter financial results on Nov. 3, reporting that construction of its pellet plant in Lucedale, Mississippi, is nearly complete, with commissioning expected to begin in the late fourth quarter of 2021.

Japan proposes standards for non-industrial wood pellets


The government of Japan on Nov. 9 proposed new Japanese agricultural standards (JAS) for wood pellet fuel used in non-industrial applications, such as residential stoves and commercial boilers. A comment period is open through Dec. 9.
