EPA proposes to further delay RFS compliance deadlines The U.S. EPA on Nov. 18 issued a proposed rule further delay certain RFS compliance dates, including those for compliance years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The agency is also proposing to change how it establishes RFS compliance deadlines starting in 2022. READ MORE SHARE
House passes Build Back Better Act The House of Representatives on Nov. 19 voted to approve the Build Back Better Act, a $1.9 trillion legislative package that includes nearly $1 billion for biofuels infrastructure, extends the biodiesel tax credit, and includes incentives for SAF. READ MORE SHARE
	Feenstra amendment bolsters use of woody biomass for bioenergy The House Committee on Science, Space and Technology on Nov. 16 approved an amendment to the National Wildlife Fire Risk Reduction Program Act offered by Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa, that aims to bolster bioenergy and biofuels production. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: Nearly 1.7 billion RINs generated in October The U.S. EPA has released updated renewable identification number (RIN) data, reporting that nearly 1.7 billion RINs were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in October, up from 1.56 billion generated during the same month of last year. Hinson bill prevents EPA from retroactively reducing RFS RVOs Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, on Nov. 23 introduced the Defend the Blend Act, which aims to prevent the U.S. EPA from retroactively reducing RFS blend requirements. Reps. Rodney Davis, R-Ill.; Angie Craig, D-Minn.; and Ron Kind, D-Wis., are cosponsors. READ MORE SHARE
Viridos partners with ExxonMobil to help scale algae biofuels Viridos Inc., previously Synthetic Genomics, has signed a joint agreement with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. with the intent to bring Viridos’ low-carbon intensity biofuels toward commercial levels. READ MORE SHARE
Clean Energy breaks ground on RNG dairy digester Clean Energy Fuels Corp. announced it has broken ground on a renewable natural gas (RNG) digester at Del Rio Dairy in Friona, Texas, its first in a joint venture with TotalEnergies to produce the ultra-clean transportation fuel. READ MORE SHARE
Bell 525 completes first flight with SAF Bell Textron Inc. announced on Nov. 16 the Bell 525 Relentless completed its first flight using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in summer 2021. Bell first incorporated SAF in its training and demonstration fleet in March 2021. READ MORE SHARE
Arbor Renewable Gas announces plant site locations Arbor Renewable Gas LLC announced on Nov. 17 that it has selected a 53-acre site in Beaumont, Texas, as the home of its first renewable gasoline plant. The company has tentatively selected a site in Pasadena, Texas, for an additional facility. READ MORE SHARE
Enviva, J-Power sign MOU for long-term supply of wood pellets Enviva Partners LP and Tokyo-based utility Electric Power Development Co. Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the long-term, large-scale supply of sustainable wood biomass from Enviva's manufacturing facilities in the U.S. READ MORE SHARE
Archaea Energy signs 21-year RNG agreement with NW Natural Archaea Energy Inc. announced Nov. 15 that its subsidiary Archaea Holdings LLC has entered into a long-term RNG purchase and sale agreement with Northwest Natural Gas Co., a subsidiary of NW Natural Holdings. READ MORE SHARE
