EPA issues RFS RVO proposed rule, proposes to deny SRE petitions The U.S. EPA on Dec. 7 released a proposed rule to revise 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard RVOs and set long-overdue RVOs for 2021 and 2022. In a separate action, the agency is proposing to deny more than 60 SRE petitions. READ MORE SHARE
Drax announces plans to double pellet production capacity by 2030 Drax Group plc on Dec. 1 announced plans to double its biomass pellet production to 8 million metric tons per year by 2030. The company also announced commissioning is nearly complete at its facility in Demopolis, Alabama. READ MORE SHARE
	EIA improves biofuels reporting in Monthly Energy Review The U.S. Energy Information Administration recently changed the way its reports biofuel data in its Monthly Energy Review. The agency now breaks down data into four categories, including ethanol, biodiesel, renewable diesel and other biofuels. READ MORE SHARE
United fuels passenger flight with 100% SAF United Airlines announced on Nov. 30 an unprecedent achievement for sustianable aviation fuel (SAF) use. For the first time, a commercial carrier flew an aircraft full of passengers using 100 percent SAF. READ MORE SHARE

Pratt & Whitney, Embraer partner on 100% SAF demonstration Pratt & Whitney has signed a memorandum of understanding with Embraer to collaborate on studies of 100 percent SAF. Technical teams from the two companies will engage to define an integrated ground and flight test plan for the fuel. READ MORE SHARE
ABFA releases principles for low carbon fuel policy On Dec. 2, the ABFA released a set of principles to inform low carbon fuels policy, approved by the association’s diverse membership. India awards military certification to biojet technology India’s Ministry of Science and Technology on Nov. 29 announced it has awarded provisional clearance to a domestically developed technology to produce biobased jet fuel for use on military aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force. Aemetis signs MOUs with 8 airlines in the oneworld Alliance Aemetis Inc. announced Nov. 30 that memorandum of understanding’s have been signed with eight airline members of the oneworld Alliance for 350 million gallons of blended fuel containing SAF to be delivered to San Francisco International Airport.
