DOE report shows biofuel, bioenergy employment increased in 2021 The U.S. Department of Energy on June 28 released its 2022 U.S. Energy and Employment Report, which includes new data on employment in the biofuels and bioenergy sectors. Canada publishes final Clean Fuel Regulations The Canadian government on June 29 published final Clean Fuel Regulations, which will require fuel producers and suppliers to meet increasingly stringent carbon reduction goals for gasoline and diesel. READ MORE SHARE
	Hu Honua files appeal with Hawaii Supreme Court Hu Honua Bioenergy LLC on June 29 filed a notice of appeal with the Hawaii Supreme Court seeking to vacate a May 23 order issued by the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission denying the company’s power purchase agreement (PPA) with Hawaiian Electric. Trillium expands RNG offerings with new partnership Trillium has partnered with Chautauqua Green Energy and CGE Ventures to expand its RNG offerings. The deal will convert gas from the Chautauqua County landfill, in Chautauqua, New York, to 100 percent RNG that will be sold at Trillium's CNG stations. READ MORE SHARE

USDA: US planted soybean acreage up 1% U.S. farmers have planted an estimated 88.3 million acres of soybeans in 2022, up 1 percent when compared to last year, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service’s Acreage report, released June 30. READ MORE SHARE

EU’s Transport and Tourism Committee agrees on SAF goals Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on the Transport and Tourism Committee on June 27 voted 25 to six in favor of adopting a draft negotiating mandate on the ReFuelEU aviation rules, which sets a goal for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) use. CHAR provides biocarbon and green hydrogen to RNG update CHAR Technologies Ltd. announced that the City of Saint-Félicien, Québec, has received $CDN 2.8 million in government funding to support their waste heat recovery system from the forest biomass cogeneration plant in Saint-Félicien.
