World Energy to develop new SAF hub in Texas


World Energy on Aug. 18 announced it is launching advanced engineering plans to convert its existing assets in Houston to launch a new SAF hub that will boost the company's SAF capacity by 250 MMgy. The hub is expected to be operational in 2025.

SoCalGas breaks ground on RNG-to-hydrogen system


Southern California Gas Co. has begun construction of a first-of-its-kind advanced hydrogen generation system at SunLine Transit Agency in Thousand Palms, California. The project, called H2 SilverSTARS, will produce hydrogen from RNG.

DOE: Wood Heater Technology Slam scheduled for Sept. 29


The U.S. Department of Energy has announced applications for the Wood Heater Technology Slam are due Aug. 31. The event is part of the agency’s 5th Wood Stove Design Challenge, which launched in December 2021. The slam will be held Sept. 29.

EPA: 1.7 billion RINs generated in July


The U.S. EPA released updated renewable identification number (RIN) data on Aug. 18, reporting that 1.7 billion RINs were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in July, down slightly from the same month of last year.
