EU vote allows biomass to continue to help meet RED goals


MEPs on Sept. 14 voted in favor of proposals for a revised RED. The proposals aim to raise the share of renewables in the EU's final energy consumption to 45 percent by 2030. They also address the use of woody biomass.

USDA: US pellet exports at 649,186 metric tons in July


The U.S. exported 649,185.7 metric tons of wood pellets in July, down from 832,092.2 metric tons the previous month, but up when compared to the 546,519.1 metric tons exported in July 2021, according to data released by the USDA FAS on Sept. 7.

Enviva supplies biomass to Alder Fuels for use as SAF feedstock


Enviva Inc. and Alder Fuels have signed a contract under which Enviva will supply up to 750,000 metric tons per year of sustainably sourced woody biomass to Alder's first Alder Greencrude (AGC) production facility.
