The Alliance for Green Heat has been awarded $75,370 from FEMA to reduce fire risk in vulnerable wood-heated homes. The project is the nation’s first fire prevention and safety program targeting firewood banks and wood-burning households.

Japan-based Renova Inc. on Oct. 14 announced that its 75-megawatt (MW) Omaezakikou Biomass Power Plant resumed operations on Oct. 10. The facility was idled in June following a malfunction of auxiliary boiler equipment.
