U.S. biofuel producers consumed an estimated 28.858 billion pounds of feedstock in January, down nearly 6% when compared to December and down slightly from January 2025, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on March 31.

The U.S. EPA on March 27 finalized the 2026 and 2027 RFS RVOs at levels higher than originally proposed. The increase is attributed to the decision delay implementation of provisions penalizing imported fuels and feedstocks until 2028 or later.
The California Air Resources Board in early March issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking a vendor that can help the agency identify used cooking oil (UCO) that has been fraudulently mixed with virgin oils, such as palm oil.
