OPAL Fuels on Sept. 16 announced that it has extended its landfill gas rights agreement with the Miramar Landfill in San Diego, California, for an additional five years. The site has been producing renewable electricity since 1998.
The U.S. EPA on Sept. 17 reported that 2.02 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in August, up 6% when compared to the same month of last year. Total RIN generation for the first eight months of the year reached 16.34 billion.
The Placer County Planning Commission has approved a use permit for the proposed Cabin Creek Biomass Facility. The project is designed to convert locally, sustainably sourced woody biomass and other materials into biochar and other products.
Greenwood County and Redtail Renewables on Sept. 15 announced a long-term partnership to develop an RNG project at the Greenwood County Landfill. The announcement follows Redtail Renewables' acquisition of VRNG Greenwood LLC.
A U.K. official on Sept. 1 confirmed that the U.K. government does not intend to introduce replacement subsidies for small-scale biomass generators when the current Renewables Obligation (RO) support scheme expires in April 2027.
