U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 900,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in November, according to the U.S. EIA’s Monthly Densified Biomass Fuels Report. Sales of densified biomass fuel reached 970,000 tons during the month.
The government of Queensland, Australia, has announced it will invest $25 million to support a project that will enable renewable diesel production at Ampol’s Lytton oil refinery. The project could expand in the future to include SAF production.
OPAL Fuels announced that it has entered into a master agreement establishing a framework to monetize $100 million of Section 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credits over the next several years. The first closing is anticipated to take place in Q2.
EnviTec Biogas is celebrating the initial feed-in from a EnviThan gas upgrading plant in Slovakia that added to an existing biogas plant that has been in operation for 14 years. The facility will continue to generate electricity.
The American Biofuels Maritime Initiative, which includes members representing the ethanol and biogas industries, on April 23 sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling for strong U.S. leadership in IMO negotiations.
