New Zealand’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority on Oct.1 announced it is investing in five new wood energy aggregation facilities and four projects that aim to produce torrefied biomass and wood pellets.
BerQ RNG on Oct. 6 announced that it has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of assets from Sevana Bioenergy. The transaction includes the Rialto Bioenergy Facility in California and a pipeline of dairy and swine manure RNG development projects.
The U.K. cleantech business Nova Pangaea Technologies has agreed to collaborate with NorSAF, the company behind the Baltic’s largest SAF project, to develop an advanced ethanol production plant in Latvia to supply the new facility.
For qualified biomass facilities, properly processed railroad ties can provide a reliable supplemental fuel stream with useful heating value, established regulatory pathways and the potential to diversify supply.
