The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) data for May, reporting that nearly 1.57 billion RINs were generated during the month, including more than 31.11 million cellulosic RINs.
More than 30.98 million D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs were generated in May, including 25.28 million generated for compressed renewable natural gas (RNG) by domestic producers, 2.43 million generated for liquefied RNG 2.43 million by domestic producers, 2.03 million generated for liquefied RNG by importers, 809,299 generated for compressed RNG by importers and 440,284 generated for cellulosic ethanol by domestic producers.
According to EPA data, D3 RIN generation for the first five month of the year reached more than 129.14 million. This includes 95.12 million generated for compressed RNG by domestic producers, 15.4 million generated for liquefied RNG by domestic producers, 7.99 million generated for liquefied RNG by importers, 4.26 million generated for cellulosic ethanol by importers, 3.57 million generated for compressed RNG by importers, and 2.8 million generated for cellulosic ethanol by domestic producers.
EPA data shows 132,150 D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated in May, all for cellulosic heating oil by importers. During the first five months of the year, generation of D7 RINs reached 1.17 million, all of which were generated for cellulosic heating oil by importers.
More than 11.58 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated in May, including 4.96 million generated for nonester renewable diesel by domestic producers, 3.9 million generated for naphtha by domestic producers, 2.1 million generated for ethanol by domestic producers, 420,071 generated for LPG by domestic producers, 193,144 generated for renewable heating oil by domestic producers and 9,006 generated for compressed RNG by domestic producers.
For the first five months of the year, D5 RIN generation reached nearly 74.2 million. This includes 24 million generated for nonester renewable diesel by domestic producers, 19.94&nbsp;
