The USDA reduced its forecast for 2025-’26 soybean oil use in biofuel production in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released March 10. The expected price for soybean oil was revised up.
Repsol on March 10 announced plans to invest up to EUR 10 billion ($11.61 billion) in its operations through 2028, with a portion of that investment dedicated to low-carbon projects, including renewable fuels.
thyssenkrupp Uhde has been awarded a contract by Halifax-based Nova Sustainable Fuels to perform an integration and optimization study for NSF’s biomass-to-methanol project in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Celtic Renewables has secured £16.23 million in public and private funding to scale its production of high-demand green chemicals. The company plans to develop a commercial-scale facility to produce bioacetone, biobutanol, and bioethanol.
U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 1 million tons of densified biomass fuel in October, according to the U.S. EIA’s Monthly Densified Biomass Fuels Report. Sales of densified biomass fuel reached 970,000 tons during the month.
