The U.S. exported 894,320.3 metric tons of wood pellets in August, down from 979,282.7 metric tons in July, but up from 775,860.8 metric tons in August 2024, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Aug. 19.
Tidewater Renewables Inc. on Nov. 13 reported that production at its renewable diesel facility in British Columbia was impacted in September and October by unplanned downtime. The facility is expected to be operating at full capacity by December.
The U.S. EIA maintained its forecasts for 2026 renewable diesel and biodiesel production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Nov. 12. The 2026 outlook for “other” biofuel production, which includes SAF, was reduced.
The National Oilseed Processors Association and the American Soybean Association on Nov. 12 sent a joint letter to President Donald J. Trump, urging the administration to finalize key biofuel policies.
U.S. manufacturers produced approximately 900,000 tons of densified biomass fuel in June, according to the latest edition of the U.S. EIA’s Monthly Densified Biomass Fuels Report. Sales of densified biomass fuel reached 850,000 tons.
