The British Columbia Utilities Commission has completed an inquiry examining its definition of RNG and the sufficiency of mechanisms to ensure proper accounting for GHG associated with biomethane purchased outside of the province.

The U.S. EPA on June 18 released data showing nearly 2.02 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in May, up nearly 4% when compared to the same month of last year. Total RIN generation for the first five months of 2026 reached 9.66 billion.
The U.S. EPA on June 18 released updated Renewable Fuel Standard data, reporting that no new small refinery exemption (SRE) petitions were filed under the program during the past month. A total of 40 SRE petitions remain pending.
